Good health is so important for a happy and productive life and we understand this. Preventative measures are just as important as treating disease and we place much emphasis on cancer prevention strategies such as diet, exercise and screening colonoscopy and gastroscopy. When you need an experienced gastroenterologist
in Melbourne's eastern
suburbs, Dr Balson is only too happy to care for you.
Dr Ross Balson is an experienced gastroenterologist having trained at The Royal Melbourne and Western Hospitals and subsequently in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne in private practice and at Box Hill Hospital for 20 years where he established the hepatitis clinic.
In 2005, he worked at St. Thomas' hospital in London where he trained in EUS (endoscopic ultrasound), a specialised procedure used in the staging and diagnosis of pancreatic and other cancers. He was one of the first few gastroenterologists in Melbourne to train in EUS.
He has a particular interest in bowel cancer screening and prevention through colonoscopy and is an approved colonoscopist of the National Bowel Cancer screening program.
